Tree Pruning

Tree Pruning in Redding

Shasta Tree Pro provides professional tree pruning throughout Redding and Shasta County, with an emphasis on structural pruning, natural form, and long-term tree health. Pruning begins with what needs to be accomplished—not a predetermined amount of canopy to remove.

Large-canopy judgment

Pruning starts with the whole tree.

A mature tree cannot be evaluated by canopy size alone. Its species, structure, condition, previous pruning, available growing space, needed clearance, and nearby buildings or other targets all affect what should be cut—and what should be retained.

The objective determines the cuts.

Professional pruning is not simply removing foliage or making a tree smaller. The work may include structural pruning, crown cleaning, selective thinning, crown raising, crown reduction, restoration pruning, natural-form pruning, or reducing excessive limb leverage where appropriate. Each cut should serve the tree, the site, and the desired long-term response.

Interior foliage and natural form are preserved where appropriate. Topping is not treated as routine pruning. Tree care starts with judgment. The saw comes second.

When condition, defects, or nearby targets require closer evaluation, begin with Tree Risk Assessment.

Reach Further. Cut Smaller.

Where practical, smaller reduction cuts farther into the crown can manage size and loading while retaining more of the tree's established structure and canopy.

Restoration Pruning

Previously topped or poorly pruned trees may require several pruning cycles to improve structure and manage new growth.

Fine Pruning & Hedge Restoration

Selective hand pruning can reduce and reshape established ornamentals and privacy screens without repeatedly shearing the exterior.

Fruit & Citrus Tree Pruning

Pruning is adjusted to the species, condition, and purpose of the tree. Overgrown fruit trees can often be reduced gradually rather than severely cut back at once.

Tree pruning for homes and commercial properties

Shasta Tree Pro prunes trees at residential and commercial sites in Redding, Palo Cedro, Anderson, and surrounding Shasta County communities. The recommendation accounts for the tree's condition, the available working space, nearby structures, clearance needs, and how the tree is expected to respond over time.
